48 Days of Creative Devotion

A lot of my friends are artists. I wanted to see what one (two, three, maybe four—plus who knows who else will be there, blowing my mind) of them in particular would create every day for 48 days, so I signed up for All Creativelike’s 48 Days of Creative Devotion. To spy. And/or for free reading material.

It will look like art when there are 48 of them.

For my own creative devotion, I’m keeping a visual diary of everything Bubs eats. I can do this for 48 days, because I want answers:

  • Is his diet as repetitive and limited as I think it is?
  • Why does he consume nothing at school, except for drinks?
  • Will coloring in all of the foods inspire me to encourage him to eat the rainbow?

AND I love this Peter Menzel book. Since reading it, we have always wanted to set up such a photo shoot. You know, of ourselves. But you can’t just wing this kind of thing. Or this. This. ā¤.

This is beautiful. This makes me feel like I want to draw everything Angelina eats (she also does not consume food at school – I think it is a middle school thing?) except I cannot draw and my handwriting is atrocious.

Holy Moly! I can’t recall ever having met someone who has so quickly inspired me to try things (recipes, diff ingredients, websites) and buy things (books, $$$ magazines) than you do! Menzel book? What wins? Dinner: A Love Story or What I Eat? Dilemma. I already record food daily for myself and barely have enough time to get it all down, but haven’t recorded the kiddo’s in this manner or in pictures! Visual diary = aha! moments. So, what’s the dealio with 48 days? Is this a magical # for some reason? Cool idea! Can’t wait to see your entries! Art on!

  4. EVERYTHING YOU DO is full of so much talent. These drawings have always been cute little things on letters you’ve sent or gifties you’ve given me, but when taken together, they are STUNNINGLY GOOD. You consistently rock my world.

I love your drawings. I found a thank you note you wrote/drew from a BBQ night oh so long ago. I looked at it with Miranda and she was shocked to see that you had portrayed cute little naked bums, among other things! I liked the web sites you linked too — very cool!
