GOOD ENOUGH: Ikea ALGOT

Storage situation improve after visit Ikea. Now everything one place in drawers/no stacked-up boxes.

Still no space vacuum cleaner.

I like this amount of space. I like having everything* together. But I do wish it were a nicer looking, yet equally inexpensive, thing that fits perfectly under Joe’s one million shirts. *Insulin’s still in the fridge, of course.

Few things not sure OK throw away:

  • One ton extra tubing (because tubing use not 1:1 ratio kachunker use)
  • DVDs, dongle, mysterious cords (maybe figure out some day?)
  • Luxura insulin pen (too pretty?)
  • Dexcom sensor Dexcom need for study adhesive failure, but postage-paid return box not arrive yet. (Only save because love Dexcom so. Any other company not save garbage this long)
  • Unopened off-brand finger prickers (donate somewhere?)

This system seem OK, but still not feel 100% set.

Sundries money shot:

1) Ping battery caps and cartridge caps. 2)Uni-solv and IV Prep wipes. 3) a cord I'm not sure about. 4) spare pump and pump remote batteries 5) Fast Clix lancets. 6) Multi-clix lancets

Moral of this drawer’s story: it is impossible to make a living selling lancets. Even a supplies hog like me doesn’t want any more.

  1. Can you please organize all my medical crap? I give up! I will have to show this to Nate. He is the king of organization. I’m a good cleaner. Terrible organizer.

We have a lot of extra tubing, also. Because sometimes we get a bad kachunker. ( Love that name for it, btw! It’s cracking my little girl up:)). Does that happen to you, too? They should package them separately.

  3. 🙂 Love this! I am so new to pumping I had a tubing issue and changed out the whole set before it dawned on me that I could change JUST the tubing… duh… I also have great envy at your bounty of supplies! I told Marshall it’s my dream to complain about too many… (confession: I complain about too many lancets too) especially test strips, oh to be drowning in test strips! Wouldn’t that be amazing?!

    • I feel like a glutton. It’s not this bad usually—I mean so far we always do have plenty, but twice this year (twice in 4 months!) we were sent a 3 month supply of strips. Maybe one of the batches came in December. Either way it’s a ton of strips but right now it is about 4 million.

How funny that EVEN YOU have too many lancets. They should do some finger infection scare tactics to encourage fresh lancet use

  5. Looks great! I took photos of all of Eleanor’s gear, but I don’t have it all in one place, there’s a little here and a little there, and so one and so forth. Oh well, and with two PWDs in the house we have twice the “shtuff” taking up my precious cabinet space.

I’m impressed with your storage system though. It’s looking good!

I don’t have my “organization” collage of photos on the blog yet, but I did put it on the Girl Glycosylated Facebook page. I’ll add a couple more photos to the blog tomorrow. ❤
