Bigfoot, Bigfoot Spouse, emotionally disturbed dog come home after evening out. First time leave Bubs calculate own carbs/insulin dose. (With diabetic varsity dreamboat babysitter assistance.) 3 hours post-prandial:
100.
BAM! Bubs-DVDB combo inspire so much confidence, consider not only size of slice, thickness/density of crust, + amount not eaten, but also pizza’s gestalt. Whoa.
Since DVDB visit Aruba for remainder April school vacation (kind, handsome, athletic, diabetic person not only good for babysitter, also coveted vacation home guest), Bigfoot/Bigfoot spouse plan mini-vacation for family so not just sit around bereft DVDB gone.
Vermont. Of course April = Vermont! [This choice for water slide purposes (don't judge)]. Far enough challenge selves learn how travel new equipment, close enough not need airplane + only gone 3 days. How many infusion sets? Bigfoot think 5. How much insulin? Bigfoot think one unopened, one opened, one Humalog pen, one Lantus pen, carry in cooler w/ ice pack, bring ziploc bag/ fill w. ice when ice pack no longer cold if no minibar. (Contingencies!) How long OK unplug Bubs? Bigfoot guess 30 minutes, check BG, if OK, 30 minutes more, take break eat + plug in + test, then 30 minutes more…actually Bigfoot have no idea how manage probably way over-test. How many test strips? Bigfoot think 175.
Serendipity: Jay Peak water slide name = Pump House.

the pump house!
Pump it!
pump it up.
I don’t know bubs but I’m very proud he did so well calculating his insulin mostly on his own! That was an imtimidating task to master and he did great.
Also- depending on how well the infusion sets stick to bubs in water you may want to think about bringing more for watersides- they have a way of ripping those off sometimes and it’s better to be safe then sorry.
HOLY CRAP I AM SO IMPRESSED WITH BUBS + DVDB + PIZZA = 100 I CAN BARELY FOCUS ON ANYTHING ELSE!
your prep sounds perfect, i look forward to reading about how everything went down at the pump house PUUUMP IT.
Omg! You were so close to us. 1 hour away. We were up there this past w/e for a hockey tournament. Joe loved the water park. Did you go on la chute?
I did NOT go on la chute. The orange (no raft) slide was my personal la chute. Do you live in Vermont? I need to read more carefully. I always assume internet friends are far, far away. Did YOU go on la chute? My guess is: yes. Of course.
Yes to both..live in veermont…and la chute left my back scraped up, but it was a blast.
